Hill Head beach again

So we was out and about in Arnie yesterday and we ended up at Hill Head beach again!

This time we parked up along the seafront and headed to the east side of the beach, i didn't really pay much attention last time but there's a little harbor and sailing club this way and today they had loads of children out in the little sailing boats. We watched for a few minutes then Grace pops up with "I want to go on the boats, i can sail!" lol. she would have pooped herself if i chucked her in one and said "off you go then!".

Further along is a small beach  and a walkway lined with beach huts, I would love a little beach hut somewhere but wouldn't want to pay the stupid money they go for here. Grace and Obi but went paddling in the sea then we had a seaweed fight whilst the dog was trying to eat it.

We will be popping along here again for sure, nice and quiet little spot.

Magazine photo shoot

On Tuesday just gone Arnie had a photo shoot by top VW photographer Dave Warren for VW Camper and Commercial Magazine.

I was a bit worried as Arnie is no way a show bus, far from it! So Tuesday morning i had to clear all the camping stuff out from the weekend, its amazing how much crap you have in there lol, bits and bobs everywhere! I gave him a quick snow foam wash, cleaned Grace's hand prints and the dogs nose marks off the windows and dusted the dash off just in time for Dave Warren to arrive at the garage after the morning shooting my friend Paul's 1961 Beetle that i restored last year.

We headed off to a spot a few minutes away from my work for the shoot, Dave Warren worked his magic with the camera and the results were amazing!

Hollands Wood Campsite, New Forest

With the weather still awesome we decided to camp in the new forest this weekend just gone, me, Grace and Obi picked up my nephew Alfie on the way through and headed 35 miles west to the middle of the new forest. we arrived at a nice little campsite called Hollands Wood just outside the small village of Brockenhurst.

Its a lovely little campsite with very clean toilets and showers witch was handy with the kids. There are ponies, donkeys and even cows wandering around, we made the mistake of leaving a loaf of bread on the table as we popped to the toilets only to return with a pony scoffing the lot!

The kids loved it in the woods, loads of trees to climb and dens people have made with the branches.
We will be heading back over here in the next few months, if your thinking of heading to the new forest for a few days this camp site is well worth a look, its even a dog friendly site so you can bring your dogs for no extra money!

Hill Head beach

So as the weather took a turn for the better last weekend we decided to pack a picnic, jump in Arnie and just see where we ended up. I let Grace decide if we should head east or west, she chose west and off we went!

We only ended up traveling 14 miles and found some signs for Hill Head beach, I had never heard of it even though its so close to us so we checked it out and took Obi for a walk. Opposite the parking is a nature reserve but thought we had best steer clear of that with an excitable puppy.

Whilst walking Grace done her #2minutebeachclean and picked up a hell of a lot of plastic bottle tops from the beach for that short amount of time! Its amazing how much rubbish is left behind on a beach.

Meet the new member of the family :)

So here's the new member of our little family, Graces dog Obi.

Hes 4 and a half months old now, and now the weather has picked up he will be out with us on our travels now hes used to the traveling.

VolksWorld show 2015

Woke up on Sunday morning all excited about the Volksworld show, I always enjoy this as for me and Grace its the start of the show season.

We met up with a few friends for a little VW convoy to Sandown Park in Esher. It took just over an hour to get there, got stuck in a traffic jam at Guildford for no reason at all, hate it when that happens!

We arrived there about 10.20 am after a windy drive, Arnie gets blown all over the place with a little wind, Sunday decided to be super windy! bloody weather!

As usual there were some awesome vehicles on show, i didn't bother taking any photos inside as its always to busy and can never get a decent shot. after looking around we brought a few things at the stores there, i picked up some Rat Fink door pulls for the green machine from Lime Bug and a few bits for a job from Vanwurks and MegaBug.

Then we headed outside whilst the weather was good. I popped into the Rothfink Industries store and picked up a sweet iphone cover and a few stickers. Grace was playing pin the badge on the bus to win some sweets :)

Took some photos outside of my favorite cars, then after a while looking around some more we got back in Arnie and got blown all the way back to Portsmouth with a quick pit stop in little chef half way back :)

He's been welded up with new rear arches, rear corners repaired and complete new n/s/f wheel arch. Sprayed the same green I've had specially mixed to excatly how I wanted it (I've named the colour ArnoldGrün lol) but for a slightly different look I've sprayed up to the roof. It's good to have him back in the road all one colour again, I got fed up with the faded look with a few fresh panels. 

Now to clock some more miles up on him this year :)

At the moment the green machine is in Bear Bodyworks having some bodywork sorted out then a fresh coat of paint ready for the summer!

Hillend Campsite, Gower Peninsula, Wales

This summer Me and Grace took a little trip 200 miles up to Rhossili on the Gower Peninsula, south Wales. We stayed in a lovely little campsite called Hillend campsite (http://www.hillendcamping.com/), I have to say this is one of the best places we have been to, Great campsite and an amazing location! we arrived at the site on a Thursday and as you can see by the photos we had a nice spot just two minutes walk through some sand dunes to a spotless sandy beach. Each day we had lovely weather and spent most of the days on the beach surfing (well trying to!) then after a shower back to the beach to see the sun setting.  

We are already planning another trip there next year, 5 STARS from us for this one!
